Six districts account for 25 percent of the crime rate in Istanbul, or a quarter of it. BeyoÄŸlu is one of those districts. BeyoÄŸlu is followed by Kadıköy, BaÄŸcılar, Küçükçekmece, Fatih and Esenyurt.

Esenyurt, Küçükçekmece, Bağcılar, and Esenler are at the top of the list of the most dangerous districts of Istanbul.

Personally, if I were to live in Istanbul, I would prefer to be in the Adalar (Princes Islands) district. The neighborhoods I have listed below are the ones with the highest crime rates:

  • Gazi Mahallesi (Sultangazi)
  • Birlik Mahallesi (Ümraniye)
  • Sarıgöl (GaziosmanpaÅŸa)
  • Dolapdere (BeyoÄŸlu)
  • Tarlabaşı (BeyoÄŸlu)
  • Hacıhüsrev (BeyoÄŸlu)
  • KuÅŸtepe (ÅžiÅŸli)
  • Karabayır (Esenler)
  • Selamsız (Üsküdar)
  • Kanarya (Küçükçekmece)
  • Çakaldere, TaÅŸlıbayır, Kaynarca (Pendik)
  • Yenisahra and Fikirtepe (Kadıköy)
  • Gülsuyu and Başıbüyük (Maltepe)
  • Topselvi and Kurfalı (Kartal)
  • Demirkapı and AteÅŸtuÄŸla (BaÄŸcılar)
  • Çırpıcı (Zeytinburnu)
  • SoÄŸanlı, Åžirinevler and Yenibosna (Bahçelievler)
  • MahmutÅŸevket PaÅŸa (Okmeydanı)
  • Sarıgazi (Sancaktepe)

As for the neighborhoods, Sarıgöl, Dolapdere, Tarlabaşı, Kuştepe, Gazi District, Kanarya, Birlik Mahallesi, Çırpıcı, Fikirtepe, Sarıgazi, Hacıhüsrev and Mevlanakapı come to the fore with those above.
